Esther Moses Badung is the Founder and Executive Director of ScarletCord Initiative for Women and Youths.
Esther is a psychologist, researcher, and educator with a deep passion for emotional healing, community transformation, and youth empowerment. She holds various professional certifications in Trauma Healing Facilitation and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which inform her trauma-sensitive counselling, training, and community interventions.
She is also an active member of the Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON) and the Christian Counsellors and Caregivers Alliance of Nigeria (CCCAN), reflecting her commitment to professional excellence, ethical counselling practice, and holistic care.
Through the ScarletCord Initiative for Women and Youths, Esther leads programs that promote emotional healing, mentorship, skills development, and advocacy for gender equity and youth empowerment. She collaborates with community leaders, faith-based institutions, civil society organizations, and development partners to design sustainable interventions that support personal growth, resilience, and social inclusion.
Beyond her community engagement, Esther is actively involved in academic research and professional training, contributing to scholarship in trauma recovery, pastoral care, and counselling psychology. Her mission is to bridge psychological knowledge, faith-based care, and community development to foster hope, dignity, and opportunity for women and young people across Nigeria and beyond.
